ROLE OF PHOTOSHOP IN ARCHITECTURE DESIGNING

Do you want to be an architect interior designer? If yes then you must read this blog to know which is the perfect tool to start with. In order to learn like a pro, you can pursue Architect Interior Master course from any reputed CAD training center near you.
In this blog, we will talk about Adobe Photoshop which is a raster software that is used for image editing and repairing. So, let's get into it.

LIFE OF ARCHITECT BEFORE PHOTOSHOP

Architects used to draw the drawings and designs bare Hand then slowly basic 2D software originated, still for renderings and creative presentation project work Architects worked manually .After the Adobe introduced Photoshop software it worked as a gem for Architects although this software is widely used in almost every sector in Architecture and Interior Designing its uses is vast.

USES OF PHOTOSHOP IN ARCHITECTURE

It is a powerful tool which helps Architects in the following ways :
  • Render floor plans
  • Day and night scenes
  • Self-made texture effects for walls, floors, etc.
  • Using Photoshop, an architect can create different selections of the images to place them in the floor plan rendering later.
  • Apart from this, this tool is very useful in changing the environment and visual of any image.
  • This software can let its users make their own patterns or textures in their projects.
  • In some older sites or interiors that needs to rendered, one can use the retouching tools such as clone stamp and healing brush tools in this software
  • One can also create different sort of wallpapers by adding colors, cut-out images, and text using Photoshop.
  • Great and appealing text effects can also be created for beautiful presentation work.
  • This is a time saver software that allows going for fine tune the renders which eventually helps in time saving.
  • Using this software architects can present their final projects in stunning professional ways.

ADVANTAGES OF PHOTOSHOP IN ARCHITECTURE

  • Photoshop has a Non destructive flow i.e. it is a software that allows you to go back and forth between steps without losing work.
  • It makes it easy for Architecture designers to fullfill their clients requirement by showing them visually the creative rendered process their dream project and that to in no time.
  • Using this software architects can fastly create the ideas, concepts for their designs and can change the images or objects in whatever way their clients want.
  • The design renderings projects can help a real estate developer convince others to buy the property.
  • Photoshop helps in creating a perfect detailed sheet composition for portfolio making.
  • In the busy workflow sometimes designers don’t get enough time or enough material to directly show them to their clients so they can easily create patterns or texture for such material and show it to the client.
  • After 3d rendering some required retouching, colour balancing can also be done in Photoshop.
  • Architecture or Interior Designers can create the whole interior and furniture placement of the raw room and can recreate the changes numerous times.
  • If some Architects wants to start his/her own firm he/she can create their own logos, posters, visiting cards, banners etc.
  • Architects can also create a basic conceptual sketch on Photoshop and later can create it into a masterpiece.
  • Even for Model Making Architects can create their layout or composition ideas on Photoshop.
  • Architects can save their Money onto extra printings they can directly show or send the PSD/JPEG/PDF file and still can do the corrections on it.
  • Architects can also opt for other freelancing options related to Photoshop software.

What we discussed so far?

Thus, we can say that Adobe Photoshop has worked as a gem for Architects in every way and makes their workflow so easy and creative. If you are interested in learning this amazing tool then you must join the Adobe Photoshop course in Delhi

Major Differences Between SketchUp and 3ds Max

In the huge arena like architectural interior designing, there are n numbers of software which are being used for creating different types of plans, drafts, 3d models, structures, etc.

The two big giants of this industry are 3ds Max and SketchUp which have acquired big popularity in the industry. Both are the industry-leading applications but most of the time architecture interior designers got confused between 3Ds Max and SketchUp and found themselves in a completely baffling situation while going for architectural rendering.

In order to decide what to choose between the two, let’s get into a detailed comparison.

3ds Max – A Quick Overview

3ds Max is one of the 3D computer graphics software that is being used for creating games, architectural model, characters, etc.

How to Convert 2D Plan into 3D in AutoCAD

How do I change my plans from 2D to 3d in AutoCAD? Is this your question? Don't worry 😞 since this blog has rounded up the essential steps to convert 2D plans into 3D without any fault in AutoCAD.

So, be happy and read this blog till the end.

Steps to Follow are given below.

I chose a standard 30x40 sq. site, and I have done the project with interior design based.

I chose to have a sophisticated tropical theme look for this interior. In this project blog I'm going to show you that how I have converted a normal 30x40 site to a 3D model with the interior rendering. Lets take a look at it.

Step 1. Enable the Required Tools
The process from converting a 2D plan to 3D had some AutoCAD settings to begin with and that included the selecting of particular tools and they are modeling, orbit, solid editing, view and visual styles. After having all these option on, I got all basic and 3D modeling tools on the screen to begin the conversion.

Step 2. Press Pull Command
I had the 2D plan, the conversion needed a press pull command for the walls extruding, which builds up the walls. I applied the same to different object to extrude.

Step 3. Use Union, Substract and Intercept Command for Extrude the Doors and Windows
For having the doors and windows or any objects in the wall or between the walls to be fixed, I used Union, subtract and intercept command. The windows and doors were made the same way, but changing the UCS for a particular axis where the window or door has to be fixed. They were designed the same way I designed a 2D object, just that after designing it I extruded it to look 3D.

Step 4. Addind Textures
After having all the major designing of the 3D model, I had to put texture to the walls, floors and different objet to show how it looks, the texturing is what brings the building to life. This is my favorite part in the CAD as it is under my field and I love having to create a look for the interiors.

Have a look at the steps that I followed to add texture in my plan.

  • I chose to have sophisticated tropical interior look as it is one of the most trending interior inspired looks in 2019.
  • For doing the texturing work I had to go under 3D Modeling Tab which gave me different home tools on the top. Under visualize tool I found the texturing materials on/off tab, and a material browser from which I downloaded all my materials for the project, well I didnt use any of the CAD materials, I used my own. As it was different theme for my interiors.

  • I textured different materials to different objects as kitchen floors had vinyl floor planks, stairs had hardwood flooring, rooms had vinyl planks and living area had marble flooring.

  • Wall paints go on with my theory of lighting. I chose shades of tropical green and which goes with it was shades of brown.
  • Everything was under the material browser. I had to explode the walls as I had to put different wall paints to different faces of walls. After applying each material my texturing work was done.

Step 5. Adding Light in the plan
I had no lighting fixtures to it, as I am showing an open based project, I added more nature light way as wide windows allowing more light to enter the house.

Step 6. Render the Plan
After finishing the work I had to render the model, I chose a rendering size to Full HDTV, and added full shadows, sun status and added a quality to coffee break quality and rendered it. Then saved the file as jpg.

This project was fun to do, but I had a quite less amount of free time to add up more detailing to this project and I hope I have done good.
